Free To Air (FTA) satellite are satellites that carry digital channels that are not encrypted by their service providers and require no subscription nor monthly payment.  They are provided free of charge by the provider and are perfectly legal to Receiver with an FTA Receivers.  There are Thousands of FTA channels available for free, in almost every language and venue type.  Most notably in North America, all the major networks, and local channels as well as countless premium and High Definition digital signals.
